5 monologues for women based around well-known paintings.

In Samson and Delilah (Rubens), (listen to monologue performed by Ali Carney here) 52 year old Janet, a National Gallery attendant, tries to interfere in the relationship between a young man and his girlfriend.
In A Bar at the Folies Bergere (Manet) (extract available here) 21 year old temporary barmaid Lily tries out her powers on two men.
In Lunch on the grass (Manet), (extract available here) 13 year old Angel gets involved when her father and his friend entertain a young woman from next door.
In Virgin and Child (Botticelli), 79 year old Dorothy tries not to stalk her dead lovers wife and children.
In A Young Man with a Glove (Titian), (extract available here) 36 year old Claire gives a postcard to a young man in the Louvre.

Each about 15 minutes. 1 female actor.
Designed to be performed either by 5 different actors or as a one woman show.

Dressing Up (extract available here)

Set in Lordships, a huge department store, this menacing, futuristic drama pits poor and hungry youth and ambition against cynical exploitative age and money.

About 1 hour 50 minutes. 3 Female actors, 3 male.

Swimming (extract available here)

A romantic comedy for stage set in a swimming pool, this tells the story of how Percival teaches Helen to swim.

About 50 minutes to an hour. 1 male actor, 1 female.

The Malvern Widow (extract available here)

is a full length play for stage set in the late 19th Century and based on the true story of Dr Gully, (Malverns water doctor) and Florence Bravo, accused of the murder of her husband, Charles Bravo.

Performed at Worcester Swan Theatre with Bella Merlin and Timothy Kightley in the title roles.

About 2 hours. 3 Male actors, 2 Female.

Gunpowder Women. The Mother (extract available here)

is a 15 minute radio play which tells how Gunpowder Plot Leader Robert Catesbys mother tries and fails to persuade him to renounce his part in the conspiracy.

15 minutes. 2 Female actors, 1 male.
